Psalm 118:5-7

This chapter does not indicate who the writer is, but I’m leaning towards David. As I said before, he was literally running for his life for years. How comforting to think of the truth in these verses!

First of all, God hears AND answers our prayers. We can trust Him in this. No, our prayers don't always get answered the way WE want them to, or in OUR timing, but He does hear & answer.

Second, aren’t you glad we have the Bible? Without it, how could we trust God as easily? Since we can read what God did in the lives of the people in the Bible and we see how He kept His promises to them, we can trust Him too. What God has done for someone else, He CAN & WILL do for you- IF it’s a part of His will and plan.

As bad as this analogy is, think of it like this - if you need some repairs done around your house & didn’t know what company to call, what would you do? You’d ask your friends & family for recommendations, right? People you trust who have had to do something similar. They can recommend a good company because that company did a good job for them. That’s how we can look at God. By reading His Word, we see what He did for others. Then we can believe He will do the same for us! Does that make sense? I hope so!
