Matthew 5:46-48

We pick up today after yesterday’s verses, which finishes off Chapter 5. Jesus made a very practical statement. Only loving those who love you isn’t the way to live. We are commissioned to love others- this means people we don’t like, know, or look like.

I believe when we love everyone, life is better. We have to look at people & see them the way God does.

Being kind is easy, but we can get so caught up in ourselves that we aren’t sometimes. I want to brag on my husband for a minute, though. He is literally one of the KINDEST men I know. He wants people to feel seen because someone did that for him once. He was feeling sad & invisible, but a Walmart greeter brightened his day by noticing him AND praying for him. He is so sweet & goes out of his way to be kind to anyone & everyone when we are in town. That kindness can lead someone to Jesus quick because it is loving.(Read Romans 2:4) Why not take a second today & do a random act of kindness??
