1 Thessalonians 4:9-10

The title in my Bible above chapter 4 is “Live To Please God”. One thing we must remember is that Paul, Silas, & Timothy had founded this church during their missionary travels. At the time of this letter, more than likely, Paul was in jail somewhere.

The city of Thessalonica probably had over 200,000 people who worshiped pagan gods & idols. So coming in & talking about Jesus was new. Paul more than likely might not have stayed thrrr a long time, so he wrote letters with instructions & encouragement.

Verses 3-8 are pretty straight forward when it comes to how God wanted them & us to live. I highly recommend you read them. It seems like they were doing a good job loving people, which is why Paul encouraged them to keep it up.

Do you think you could ever love someone too much? I think we can spoil people with the wrong things, but love in & of itself, I don’t think we could ever over love someone the right way.
