Romans 8:28-29

Everyone quotes verse 28 but sometimes we take it out of context. A professor who filled in for mine this past term said we can’t look at the Bible like we do a year book, if so, we are doing it wrong. We can’t look for ourselves in Scripture. We can apply it to our lives. But ultimately, the entire Bible points to Jesus. We can't look trust God to turn things around for our good- but we have to be ok with God’s way - not ours.

Don’t let verse 29 make you think of pre-destination. Remember, God knows all but He also wants ALL to come into a relationship with Him. He adopts us as His own which makes Jesus our brother. God takes care of His children according to His purpose and will. That’s the point- we have to trust Him.
