Psalm 143:8-9

What a great prayer this is! I think I need to memorize these verses! David is the writer of this Psalm. I love how honest he always is with God. After all he had been through, he must have trusted God completely. I believe he still struggled with fear some, but ultimately, he KNEW that God was protecting him. He trusted God to keep Him safe and lead him. (Read verses 3 & 4)

Just think of how David’s life could have been cut short had he not let God lead him. God has all power over everything. But there are still people who die too soon. I think God knows it’s going to happen, but I don’t think He “takes” people. We live in a fallen sinful world with evil people. Sin has consequences, too. Period. Plus, we reap what we sow. Just like David’s life, God has a plan for us too. David had not done anything wrong to Saul. God had anointed David as King to replace Saul, so God was protecting him to keep him safe. Jesus was to be born through David’s family line.

God has this protective umbrella over His children. Anytime WE step out from under it, we deal with whatever happens. Letting Him lead us daily is the best way to stay under His protection. Do you trust God to lead you every day?
