Matthew 27:50-53

Since Easter is this month, I decided to write about resurrection of many different types. While Jesus' is the most important of them all, I wanted to remind us of God’s power and how He has resurrected more than just Jesus. (And Lazarus.) Jesus’ death, burial, & resurrection are the bases of our entire religion. Without it, we wouldn’t have a relationship with God like we do.

I started off this month with Jesus' death and a little known event. I honestly don’t think I’ve ever heard a Pastor teach on this fact that dead people came to life in the cemetery when Jesus died.

One of my favorite Christian singers, Brandon Lake, has lyrics in one of his songs that says, “All those funerals You ruined when You made the dead rise.” I find it interesting that they resurrected when He DIED instead of when He RESURRECTED. They also stayed in the cemetery for 3 days before going back into town. Can you imagine? Their families had to be in full shock when their loved one came into town.

The power of God is just so much more than we could ever imagine! What an amazing historical event though!
