Joshua 1:8-9

I kinda did a thing here with yesterday's being my favorite verses and today's verses being my husband’s favorite (Today is our first wedding anniversary.) Today’s verses are God talking to Joshua. We are reading the Bible through this year and just finished reading Deuteronomy where Moses was about to die. In Deuteronomy 31 verses 6,7, & 8 God tells them 3 times to be strong and courageous. In Joshua 1:6-9, He says it 2 more times as well as a reminder to read the “Book of Instruction”. This is about trust. God wants them to be strong and courageous following and trusting Him.

He wants them to read the Bible for instruction as well as trust. Remember I’ve talked about looking back and seeing what God has done in our own lives? Their faith would be built by seeing how God got them to the Promised Land.

One other key thing here is that God says He is with Joshua wherever he goes. The same is true for us! And we get a bonus, the Holy Spirit! God is with us and we can trust Him to never leave!
