2 Corinthians 5:6-9

Just above chapter 5 in my Bible they have the title “New Bodies”. This is something else we can trust God with. We have read about Jesus's resurrected body and how His scars were there but He did a lot of things He never did before. God promises us 2 things- a home in Heaven and our own resurrected bodies.

There are several examples in the Old Testament of believers “going up” to be with God. The most memorable might be Elijah from 2 Kings who was picked up in a chariot.

In the New Testament, Jesus took Peter, James, & John to a mountain where Moses and Elijah appeared to them. They had bodies. (Which of course, Elijah didn’t die, but he had to have a new body to live in Heaven.) They weren’t just spirit because Peter, James, & John saw them.

Living by believing and not seeing is what faith is. The Bible is one of the most trustworthy pieces of literature EVER written. It’s based on eye witness accounts. Not stories past down for generations. Therefore, we can trust the Bible as much as we trust the God who wrote it!
