1 Peter 1:3-5

Today's verses are written by Peter. (Used to be Simon.) He is an eye witness to everything Jesus did during His ministry. He was with Jesus the night He was arrested. Peter is the one who denied knowing Jesus 3 times. However, Jesus restored him and he was a leader in spreading the Gospel.

Back in the Old Testament, God is described as the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. After the resurrection, He is the “God who raised Jesus from the grave.” They knew God was powerful. The disciples watched as Lazarus and a little girl came back to life. They saw the healings take place. But when Jesus Himself, beat as badly as He was, came back to life, that rocked their world.

Our home and inheritance is in Heaven. But we only have that because of the death, burial, & resurrection of Jesus!
