Matthew 28:6-8

One reason why it’s important to learn the culture of Scripture time is it helps us grasp the truth of God’s heart. During this day and age, women were very much looked down on. They were even treated as possessions by some men. SO, the fact that the Angel spoke to the women and told them to go tell the disciples, is HUGE! (I mean, besides the fact that Jesus wasn’t there anymore because He was resurrected.) 🤣

Mary Magdalene and the “other” Mary are listed here as the women. That other Mary could have been His mom. I can understand their mixture of joy and fear, can’t you?

Even though Jesus told them this was going to happen, and the men knew the prophecies they probably just hadn’t really believed Him. They didn’t want Him to die and leave them. When He died, I can only imagine how distraught they were.

Jesus didn’t STAY dead!! He rose from the grace and that’s the Good News!
